How to find and remove duplicate files using Duplicate Filter?
Multiple identical files (duplicate photos, music, videos, ect.) reside everywhere on your computers, which makes it difficult to locate and clean up unnecessary duplicate files. However, unlike other duplicate file finder programs, Duplicate Filter offers you three ways to find duplicate files.
Find Duplicates
Duplicate Filter supports locating duplicate files in any folder or drive you want.
- Click “Add Folder” button in “Find Duplicate” to select the search scope, a drive, a folder, or many drives and folders.
- Define “Compare Mode”: By Name only, Name+Size, Name+CRC, CPC only, CRC Sampling, Size, MP3 Tag, ect.
- Choose file types you want to search：Any type of files, documents, pictures, compressed files, videos, music, user-defined, ect.
- Click “Scan” button to start your searching. It allows you to adjust the scanning speed.
- If you want to find duplicates in other totally different folders or drives, you can click “Clear” button to delete the previous search scope. Or if you only want to change some of the existing searched folders or drives, you can select them and then click “Delete”.
Compare two files by CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check)
Compare two files by CRC is available. Sometimes, you need to find out whether two
files are the same but don’t want to open them to compare, because it may
cost lots of time if you have many files to compare.

you compare two files by CRC using Duplicate Filter?
- Click “File CRC Compare Tool” on “Tools”.
- Open File 1 one and File 2, which you want to compare
- Click “Compare” button to start comparing. (Or you can stop the comparing process by clicking “Stop”)
- When the comparing is completed, it will pop up a window to show whether those two files are the same or not.
Find duplicates for a specified file
You can specify a file and then choose the search scope and mode to find out its
identical files.
- Click on “Tools-Duplicate File Search Tool”
- Add the folder to the finding scope and select search mode
- Click “Start” to start searching.
- When the searching is completed, it will display whether there are duplicates or not.
